We are Created in the Image of God:

The Holy Bible tells of God’s creation of the universe in Genesis, including His final and most important creation on earth—mankind.

Genesis 1:1, 26-28a, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.'  So God created man in His [own] image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Then God blessed them, and God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.'”
*Note: What is the image of God?  God is an eternal Spirit.  Each person is given an eternal spirit—his or her eternal soul.  It is the gift of a soul which distinguishes mankind from all other living creatures.  It is the eternal part of mankind (that is, part of the uniqueness of God Himself) which causes Satan to hate man and not other animals.

God Himself breathed life into man.

Genesis 2:7, 22, "And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being…[Then] He made…a woman, and He brought her to the man."
*Note: God created the shell of man (the body) out of worthless dust, which soon decays back to dust, but His love was so great that He gave man something of inestimable worth—a soul that lives forever.

God not only created us, but He also considers us His children.  Every person, whether born or unborn, is a child of God.

Acts 17:28, [Paul said] “…for in Him we live and move and have our being…’For we are also His offspring.’”
1 John 3:1a, 2a, "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!...Beloved, now we are children of God;…"

Humans are so special in God’s eyes that He knows every detail about us, even to the point of knowing the number of hairs on each person’s head.

Matthew 10:30, [Jesus said] “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”

Each Person’s Life is in God’s Hand:

God, not man, should decide when the length of a person’s life should end.

Job 12:10, "[Is not] in [the LORD’s] hand the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?”

Should We Refuse to Accept a Gift from God?

Children are a gift—a reward—from God to us.

Psalm 127:3, "Behold, children [are] a heritage from the LORD, the front of the womb [is] a reward."
